Alf & Sandee do what they love and love what they do!
Pauline came to work at Krause Berry Farms in June of 2003. At that time Alf asked her if she would like to help Sandee out in the kitchen.... little did she know she would be celebrating her 10th year this year!
Sandee & Pauline worked together - making about 40 pies on a busy day. These pies were rolled out by hand with rolling pins and the filling was made in crock pots. Not long after that - the kitchen was expanded and now Pauline has a whole team of people working in the kitchen along with a night crew!
The pies are still made from scratch - although the pie shells are not rolled out with rolling pins any more, thank heaven's - BUT still EVERY pie is pinched by hand! She make's hundreds of pies per day.
And not only pies - over 100 Krause Berry Farm products - jams - jellies - syrups - vinegars - pickled beans - pickled asparagus, fudge, bread, buns, cookies, shortcakes, donuts, kettle corn, roasted corn pizza, farm soups, berry perogies, ice cream and Christmas baking is made right here in our Harvest Kitchen using all the farm has to offer, from the field to your kitchen!
Pauline loves working amongst friends, making really good food & being proud of what she makes. She gets great satisfaction watching the farm guests through the kitchen viewing windows enjoying the quality products that she's making.
Pauline LOVES baking bread. Her pizza dough recipe is what our roasted corn pizza's sit PROUDLY upon! She knows what quality is!
Audrey met Sandee when their children were in elementary school. They struck up a friendship right away as they are both artists and love to create.
Sandee approaced Audrey to see if she could help her paint some signs.......and as they say, "the rest is history"! Audrey has hand painted almost every sign for the farm and winery- including the big highway signs you see! She is an amazing artist and uses many mediums to create. That has led her into the kitchen to hand decorate all our cookies, make our delicious fudge, and teach our Christmas workshops.
Audrey also plays the flute for the Fraser Valley Symphony Orchestra and has shared her talents with special groups that have booked their Christmas dinners here at the farm.
You will see many other gift items in the farm Market and Winery that Audrey has created - such as painted glassware, handcrafted accessories made of wool, cards, ornaments, jewelry etc etc For more information please go to her website.....www.audreylynnstudios.com.
Audrey loves working amongst friends, feels great about seeing her handiwork everywhere and looks forward to hearing about the new projects Sandee has in mind.
Anne joined our team in 2007. She started in the kitchen - helping out Pauline and then was asked to help with the merchandising in the Market.
The farm had grown so much that now we needed one person in charge of the stock in the Market. Anne was put in charge to make sure that the product continued to be rotated correctly, was front faced, priced and moved as necessary.
Anne works alongside Sandee to make sure that the Market is set up in a such a way that all our guests enjoy their visit here and can find what they are looking for.
Anne also enjoys that she is able to work among friends.
