Dear Krause Berry Farm
We are planning a trip out your way next week (Aug. 8-15) Will there still be fruit in season? Sandra Norman
Dear Sandra,
We should have blueberries and blackberries in the market and some strawberries. Hope you have time to enjoy a freshly baked piece of pie or a shortcake when you come.
Ann (on behalf of Krause Berry Farm)
Dear Ann, Thanks! - those pies are why we are making the trip from Alberta! Sandra

Good Morning Krause Brothers Farm!
I am a local customer and yesterday I came by to buy blueberries and strawberries to serve with ice cream or whipped cream for dessert as we had visitors from Ontario. However, when I saw your beautiful berry pie, that's what I bought. It was the one with raspberries, blueberries and those huge blackberries. Well when I brought it out everyone almost fainted as it is so fantastic looking - they even took pictures.
We all agreed that it was the most delicious pie we have ever had. Just thought I would let you know how much we all enjoyed it. Thanks for having such good products. Your almost neighbour, Nancy Walker Milner, BC

Out in Langley, the sound of buzz saws and happy hammering fills the air at Krause Berry Farms as the perennial berry baron and his baroness, Alf and Sandee Krause, are putting the finishing touches on preparing the property for the summer hordes.
With the season moving more briskly than expected, their expansion of The Porch - their food service kiosk which draws greater numbers each year with their outstanding take on Strawberry Shortcake and savoury sweet farmuccinos - is moving quickly to completion. "Thirty years in the berry business and this is the earliest season I have seen," admitted Alf. "Just about everything seems to be 20 days or so early, so we've had to move to get the retail end ready for the public." There are those who mark their calendars for the opening of the U-pic farms around British Columbia and this year's bounty promises to offer up plenty of sweet inspiration for everyone - including BC restaurants.
While Krause and many of the other growers in the region move a good deal of fruit through various wholesalers to the restaurant industry, many a savvy cook or pastry chef has been espied amongst the rows, sourcing the best berry possible.
